The art of interior decorating basically deals with the fell and the look of the room by adding in certain necessary accessories such as the rugs or the drapes whereas, on the other hand, the interior designing looks in making the best use of the space that is available.

However, there are many interior designers who also work as interior decorators wherein they not only have to design the space but also look into the decoration of the space.

Also even when the interior designer is not going to decorate the space available still they need to be well aware of what kind of design elements the given space would be accommodating.

Interior decoration basically concentrates on the overall aesthetics of the room such as how to pair up an open floor with the complementary furniture or any of the décor accent or how to create a mood or an ambiance in the room by choosing the right kind of colors and lights.

The interior decoration starts with a broader concept wherein they have to work in detail on the styling of the room such as a modern look, retro or a traditional look based on which the other décor would then be finalized.

The interior decorator would mostly stick to one design style from the beginning to the end so as to create that continuity in the space.

They work along with the color textures, selection as well as the patterns preferred by the customer. Overall they remain consistent with the style concept.

Whether it is decorating a new space, getting an outdated style updated or redecorating a space all fall under the head of the interior decorating.

However, when it comes to the new construction blueprint or getting the building permits do not fall under the head of the interior decorator.
